Learning about Jackson Pollock, how do our personalities differ from his style of art, or are they the same. How better to learn about emotions than evaluating your self with Jackson himself.
Ink Blots and Zen-tangles Collide Students had a bit of fun making ink blots, but we then filled all the open areas with Zen-tangles. We talked about abstract art, and being inspired by opportunity and space. We talked about treating each area of their ink blot as an opportunity not a challenge. We later introduce the basics of color schemes. The students were able to pick their own color scheme to incorporate into their art. I think they are fabulous! So are finished some are not but no matter what drawing level a student is at they turn out great.
Memory Assignment using Photographs Students took a field trip around town taking pictures of things they remember most about growing up in their hometown.
Darkroom Silhouettes It's finally here, the end of the school year, and students are having fun experimenting in the darkroom with silhouettes. We also tried some sandwiching but I can upload those on a different date. Here is to having a great summer!
